InnoTrans - Virtual Event
Extending the exhibition beyond Berlin.
Working with Shelton Fleming, we built an immersive 3D exhibition space where visitors could explore the Hitachi Rail booth virtually and interact with products and innovations beyond the event itself.
				Brief
Hitachi Rail wanted a digital platform to extend their presence beyond the physical exhibition space at InnoTrans. The goal was to recreate the booth experience virtually, giving attendees and remote visitors the ability to explore Hitachi’s innovations, interact with content, and engage with the brand on any device. The experience needed to be immersive, intuitive, and aligned with Hitachi’s visual identity, while offering insights through analytics to measure visitor behaviour and interest.
Our Approach
We worked closely with Shelton Fleming and Hitachi Rail to design a seamless digital replica of the exhibition booth. Our goal was to create a platform where users could navigate the space naturally, interact with content effortlessly, and engage with Hitachi’s story at their own pace. Hotspots were used to surface case studies and service insights, while QR codes provided instant access to deeper content across the Hitachi Rail website.
Our aim was to extend Hitachi’s presence beyond the event itself, turning a temporary exhibition into a lasting digital experience accessible to anyone, anywhere.
Our Solution
The final solution was an interactive 3D exhibition compatible with desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices. Visitors could explore the booth virtually, dive into case studies, watch videos, and interact with contact forms and quizzes through embedded iFrames. The platform included in-depth analytics, tracking dwell time, popular content, and user interactions — giving Hitachi actionable insights into audience engagement and interest.
We wanted to create a virtual experience that felt as close to being at InnoTrans as possible — a space where visitors could explore freely, engage deeply, and connect meaningfully with Hitachi’s innovations.
