SAAS Cultural Centre
Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre celebrates mankind’s scientific and cultural achievements. Being the worlds biggest museum, it contains 1,100 exhibits in six different buildings – Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Museum of Islamic History, Space Museum, Fine Arts Centre and Theatre. We were tasked with the design, content development, software development and delivery of 50 visitor digital interactive exhibits for the Natural History section.
The wide ranging exhibit briefs required a firm understanding of a range of technologies, including motion detection, robotics, multi-touch surfaces, projection mapping, DMX light controllers and RFID. Partnering with our trusted partner, BornFight, our interpretation, design and software development teams worked seamlessly together, directing each interactive through concept, wire-framing, design, development and testing. We collaborated with a number of other suppliers, including model makers and stand builders to ensure seamless integration into other aspects of the project and to enable rapid prototyping.
The result is a body of work that everyone involved can be proud of. The museum opened to the public in March ’18 and is proving to be a venue of inspiration for all ages and all types of visitor.
